Written By GTCD Member: Curious Theatre Company

Curious Theatre Company is thrilled to announce its 28th season, an exhilarating ascent into daring and thought-provoking storytelling. Each production unveils a new summit to scale, pushing boundaries, reshaping perspectives, and sparking vital conversations. This season’s lineup climbs through the rugged terrain of history, American life, and today’s most pressing issues, staying true to Curious Theatre’s mission of fearless, boundary-pushing theatre.

Season 28 Lineup:

Eureka Day by Jonathan Spector

September 6 - October 5, 2025

Regional Premiere

At a progressive private school in California, inclusion and open-mindedness define the community—until a mumps outbreak tests the school’s vaccine policy. As cases rise, the Board of Directors faces a high-stakes decision that fractures their once-harmonious institution. Recently canceled at the Kennedy Center, this sharp and hilarious commentary on personal choice and collective responsibility could not be more relevant.

Job by Max Wolf Friedlich

November 8 - December 7, 2025

Regional Premiere

Jane, a Big Tech employee, went viral for all the wrong reasons. Now, after a mandatory leave, she must convince a therapist, Loyd, that she’s ready to return to work. But as their sessions unfold, Loyd questions whether Jane’s job is a source of stability—or a deeper problem. This psychological thriller delves into power, technology, and mental health in the digital age.

Bad Books by Sharyn Rothstein

January 10 - February 1, 2026

A National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere

A concerned mother. A dedicated librarian. A small-town library becomes the unlikely battleground for a fiery debate on parenting and censorship—one that sets off a chain reaction no one saw coming. This timely and gripping story explores free speech, literature’s power, and the conflicts that shape our communities.

Another Kind of Silence by L. M. Feldman

March 7 - April 5, 2026

Rolling World Premiere

A bilingual production in English and American Sign Language, this evocative play follows Evan, a writer at a crossroads. After a decade of marriage to her composer husband, she finds herself drawn to an artist named Chap—who is also in a committed relationship. A lyrical and deeply moving story of love, identity, and communication that reaches new emotional heights.

Furlough’s Paradise by a.k. Payne

May 2 - May 31, 2026

Regional Premiere

Recently awarded the 2025 Susan Smith Blackburn prize, Furlough’s Paradise centers on cousins Sade and Mina who were raised like sisters but have since taken different paths. When they reunite for the funeral of their mother/aunt—Sade on a furlough from prison, and Mina pausing her life in California—they must navigate grief, trauma, and memory. Through poetic storytelling, they climb toward understanding, reckoning with their past to shape their future.

Curious Theatre Company continues its ascent, pushing boundaries, stimulating impactful conversations, and elevating voices that redefine our world. Don’t miss this extraordinary season of bold storytelling and transformative theatre.
