DEADLINE FOR PITCH SUBMISSIONS
11/16/26 @ 5PM
The Golden Triangle Creative District (GTCD) was named a recipient of a 2025-2026 P.S. You Are Here (PSYAH) grant from Denver Arts & Venues — a competitive creative placemaking program that supports short-term, community-led projects transforming Denver’s outdoor public spaces. This program is supported by Denver Arts & Venues through the P.S You Are Here Fund. The Technical Box Art Wraps project is designed to help build a sense of community ownership while discouraging graffiti and other acts of vandalism and to promote neighborhood identity through placemaking markers. The GTCD wrapped boxes will also serve as landmarks with an interactive pin on the Golden Triangle Creative District Public Art Map that visitors can use for a self-guided art walk tour.
COMMISSIONING 6 ARTISTS FOR 6 BOXES
The GTCD is looking to commission artists/teams to aesthetically transform six traffic signal boxes from functional infrastructure to colorful and dynamic works of art.
Chosen artworks will be printed on high-quality vinyl wraps. This vinyl wrap will cover the traffic box on all sides. Submitted designs must work in a continuous flow in order to cover the box in its entirety.

BOX WRAP SITES
The Golden Triangle Creative District board will select the site location for the winning submissions. If you have a specific location in mind for your artwork, then please add that information to your submission.
Artists proposing artwork for a traffic cabinet within the Golden Triangle Creative District should consider the cabinet’s specific location and surrounding businesses, history, activities, and physical setting. Proposed artwork should be place-based and strengthen the District’s unique identity, character, and sense of place. Artists will be asked to briefly explain how their design connects to the District and why it is meaningful and appropriate for the proposed location.

PITCH SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: DEADLINE 11/16/2026 AT 5 PM
At this stage, the GTCD is only requesting pitches, mockups or concepts with a link to portfolios or previous works to be considered. Once the jury has chosen the six final artists they will work with our production team to provide final artworks according to specs. We're doing this out of respect for the artists time and talents.
Art Wrap pitches may be considered when designed per the following criteria:
-
Keep in mind a seamless design that goes across all sides of the cabinet.
-
Set up your artwork in a landscape/horizontal format.
-
Be mindful of visibility and readability. Design elements that stand out from a distance work best, given the speed of passing vehicles.
-
Art must be two-dimensional and translatable to a digital image.
-
A maximum of three artworks may be submitted by any one artist or team.
-
The artwork must be pleasing and add beauty to the community.
-
The artwork cannot contain business promotions or advertisements.
-
The artwork cannot include any breach of intellectual property, brands, trademarks, or depictions of illegal activity.
-
The artwork must be family-friendly.
-
No AI-created artwork will be accepted.
-
Local Denver artists are preferred.
-
GTCD must adhere to the Project for Public Spaces Public Art Guidelines
-
Optional: Apply the artwork to the provided cabinet template so the committee can see the ideal orientation for the artwork on the traffic cabinet. Download sample template here.
NOTE: If selected, FINAL ART WORK will need to be provided by December 4, 2026 with the following specs:
-
Images of the artwork should be at least 300 DPI resolution and at least 1980x1334 px in size.
-
Fits the template provided by the printer. GTCD team will assist with technical questions.
JURY SELECTION PROCESS: 11/17/26-11/19/26
The jury committee will consist of selected GTCD Board members, members from the PS-You Are Here Grant team and a few community leaders involved in the project. The comittee will review and select all art pitch/idea submissions based on artistic merit, creativity, and overall impact on the community. The committee reserves the right to reject any or all entries at any time in the review and selection process. Selected artists will be notified by 11/20/26 and final artwork will be due by 12/4/2026.
Please submit the following using the form below:
