Located at 1200 Acoma on the Denver Art Museum Plaza, Spark Gallery stands as Denver's original member run art gallery, established in 1979 as an alternative to traditional commercial galleries. Its formation was one of the critical initiating sparks key to the development of the local art scene, making it an essential cultural cornerstone in Denver's artistic landscape. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Spark has been supporting a positive creative community in the heart of Denver since 1979. True to its original mission, Spark Gallery continues to foster a spirit of artistic risk-taking and exploration. The cooperative features diverse and dynamic art exhibits from member artists who work in wide-ranging mediums. Members work in sculpture, drawing, painting, collage, book arts, embroidery, assemblage, encaustic, installation, ceramics and photography.
