LAND & LABOR ACKNOWLEDGMENT
We acknowledge with respect that the land on which we stand, live, and learn, is the traditional territory of Native and Indigenous peoples. We honor Elders past, present, and future, and those who have stewarded this land throughout generations. We honor and celebrate the Indigenous communities in our City and express our gratitude for their ongoing contributions.
We respectfully and intentionally acknowledge that this country’s economy, infrastructure, and resulting generational wealth was built with stolen labor and created by the hands and on the backs of enslaved Africans and has been kept from them while enriching others. May this statement demonstrate a commitment to acknowledging and confronting this country’s disturbing history and ongoing realities while we work towards a future where racial identity no longer continues to shape the outcomes in our society and in the communities we serve.
