Every Good Time Enriches Denver Through The Arts
McNichols Civic Center Building
This venue is owned by the City and County of Denver and operated by Denver Arts & Venues, a unique City agency that uses proceeds from events — not government funding — to operate and maintain these facilities. Ticket and venue fees, sponsorships, venue rentals, concessions and parking are also paid forward and used to further enrich Denver’s art community and provide access to art for all through free and low cost community and cultural events, grants for artists and arts organizations, public art, and art education.
In 1909, the cornerstone of the building was laid, setting the foundation for the then Carnegie Library that would become a center of learning in the park. That tradition continues, as the building was re-opened in 2012 as a contemporary hub for arts and culture for the people of Denver. This stunning Greek Revival building with its classic Corinthian columns and iconic colonnade across its front, offers new experiences in a classic space.
