    The last Friday of the month at 6-9 pm, though many businesses will be open earlier and later.

  • What to Do!

    The Final Friday Art Walk (Final Fridays) gives visitors, residents and folks who work in the Golden Triangle an after-hours opportunity to explore the many creative spaces in our special corner of Denver, including the chance to engage with the quirky, cool, and sophisticated art and creatives which define our eclectic neighborhood.

    Time:
    6-9 pm on the Final Friday of each month
    Dates: June 28, July 26, August 30, September 27
    Cost: FREE to attend!
    Where: Golden Triangle, bounded by Speer Blvd, Colfax Ave, and Lincoln St
    Concierge: Stop by our concierge table at the south end of Martin Plaza for a map and event information! Located at Acoma Street and 12th Avenue, near the cows sculpture.

    Many Golden Triangle galleries and creative spaces will be hosting artist receptions, openings, talks, collaborative and performance art throughout the year with a focus on the peak months of June, July, August, and September when the Golden Triangle is most active. Check their websites for what’s on tap each month in their respective spaces.

    Mark your calendars for our next Final Friday event on July 26th! Our theme for July is A Walk Through History, including a Golden Triangle History Walking Tour, and a reception at the History Colorado Center.

    Closed for a private event on July 26.

    William Havu Gallery @ 1040 Cherokee St.
    Open 6-8 on July 26. Visit the current show, Women in Abstraction, an all-women’s group exhibition featuring painters Monroe Hodder, Amy Metier, Lola Montejo, Margaret Pettee-Olsen, Laura Wait and ceramic sculptor, Sheryl Zacharia.


    Museums:

    Denver Art Museum – Open until 10 pm
    Untitled Final Fridays (6-10 pm) events are completely artist designed and delivered, highlighting each partner’s unique talent and vision. Experience the museum in an entirely different way, every time.

    Untitled is included in general admission. Members receive free admission to every Untitled event and all the special programming that happens inside. College students with valid ID receive 2-for-1 admission. Here’s the remaining line up:

    Clyfford Still MuseumOpen until 8 pm
    Visit the Museum during their Friday evening hours from 5 to 8 pm and enjoy $5 admission for all. Admission for youth 17 and under is always free. The museum will host a tour of the exhibition at 6:30 pm that is free with admission.

    Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative ArtOpen until 8 pm
    Enjoy $5 Final Fridays at Kirkland Museum from 5 to 8 pm on the last Friday of each month, June-September 2019.

    Explore Kirkland Museum like never before—with 3D glasses! See the colorful paintings of the museum’s namesake artist, Vance Kirkland, come alive in a whole new way while learning about what makes his dynamic use of color so special. And if you’re looking for even more fun, try taking a self-guided scavenger hunt to experience a themed tour of the galleries! Please note: Kirkland Museum limits admission to ages 13+.

    History Colorado Center – Open until 9 pm
    Visit our July 27 host location, the History Colorado Center, for free admission after hours, 5-9 pm!
    Check out the new Beer Here! exhibition and then stay for discounted food and drinks in the cafe or a round of trivia. Win prizes playing Colorado sports–themed trivia in Café Rendezvous from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

    Community:

    In addition to our fine museums and galleries, each month visitors to the Golden Triangle during Final Fridays will be directed to our pop-up creative experiences within the neighborhood. Each space will hold its own surprises for those creatively inclined… here’s the line up for July 26:

    Denver Public Library – Activities until 8 pm
    The Denver Public Library can connect you with free books, movies, music, and even free museum passes to cultural institutions around the city! Visit DPL’s cute, blue book bike and nab a free book, get a recommendation for a great summer read, and make a button featuring your favorite classic book.

    Counterterrorism Education Learning Lab (CELL) – Open until 9 pm
    Visit the CELL between 5 and 9 pm for complimentary admission on the last Friday of each month, June through September 2019. The $8 per person cost of admission has been graciously underwritten by the CELL’s sponsors.

    Chairs Lady @ 321 W. 11th Ave
    Open 6-9 during Final Fridays, come join the fun! Chairs Lady is a creative, inspiring, joy-filled gallery and shop that encourages investigation of design through tiny chair making. Chairs Lady will offer a new theme inspired by Serious Play: Design in Midcentury America currently on view at the Denver Art Museum. They will supply all the materials you will need to make your own tiny chair to take home, free during Final Fridays.

    Plant Garage @ 1000 Acoma St
    July 26 from 6 to 9 pm, join Plant Garage for their customer appreciation party with live jazz and refreshments!

    Project HARTwork Gallery at Zephyr Real Estate Services @ 1120 Delaware St, Suite 110
    July 26 from 5 to 9 pm, join Zephyr for an exploration of pointillism in their Project HARTwork gallery. This month they will feature creations by Project HARTwork artist, Silas Adelanke Adeoye of Lagos, Nigeria. Silas’ unique style of pointillism is impressive from a distance and up close. Examples of modern African cubism and mixed-media by other Project HARTwork artists will also be on display.

    Feeling inspired? Create your own mini-dot mandala with event partner Mo Onstad from The Unsteady Hand.

    McNichols Building Courtyard, Civic Center Park @ 1144 W. Colfax Ave
    July 26 from 5 to 8 pm, join the folks from the McNichols Building for the Indigenous Pop X Launch Party. Admission is free. There will be live music, a cash bar and some light appetizers.

    Golden Triangle Public Art Walking Tour – 6-7 pm
    Walking tours are a great way to discover (or re-discover) a neighborhood! On July 26 we will partner with Denver Arts & Venues for this tour, which will cover a broad array of contemporary public artworks near the Denver Art Museum, Denver Public Library, and History Colorado. The tour will focus on the contemporary works in the Golden Triangle Creative District, from an oversized broom to an abstract sculpture.

    The tour will meet up at the south end of Martin Plaza (Acoma St & 12th Ave) at 5:45 pm. It will go from 6-7 pm and end at our July host location, the History Colorado Center. Space is limited to the first 20 participants. Sign up online.

    Golden Triangle History Walking Tour – 6-7 pm
    In keeping with our theme for July, A Walk Through History, we are offering a history tour of one of Denver’s oldest neighborhoods, the Golden Triangle. The tour will be led by Dennis Humphries, who will bring his own unique perspective. As Principal at Humphries Poli Architects, Dennis has been practicing architecture for over 40 years and designing award winning civic buildings for decades!

    The tour will meet up at the south end of Martin Plaza (Acoma St & 12th Ave) at 5:45 pm. It will go from 6-7 pm and end at our July host location, the History Colorado Center. Space is limited to the first 20 participants. Sign up online.

    Everyone who lives in the Golden Triangle Creative District knows the best way to get around the neighborhood is on foot – or check out a B-Cycle!  Use our map link above and plan your path!

  • Parking

    “Oh no – I’m going into the ‘city!’ Where do I park???”  Check out lots of options here.

    Bicycling, walking and public transit is encouraged.  With just a simple ride up the 16th Mall Free Shuttle from Union Station to Civic Center and a stroll through Civic Center Park, you can begin to explore what’s happening for Final Fridays!
